We are strongly committed to education, awareness and a one-on-one
interaction about natural skincare and essential oils with local
people in our community. We will actually get to see the long-term
effects of our gifts to those that were/are involved as we enter
our golden years. What a great thought!
We feel that education and awareness aimed at young people today,
will instill values and opinions that will someday become a
lifestyle within their own families.
The Soap Garden Boutique takes a portion of their time and
proceeds to support their community and local charities as well as
national ones. We support fair trade through purchases of raw
ingredients worldwide, through companies that pay the producers of
these ingredients a fair living wage. Locally, we are a member of
"Future Harvest" an organization who is a Chesapeake Alliance For
Sustainable Agriculture.

We have been actively involved with the County 4-H Club for almost
8 years now and have donated our time to teach soap making classes
and the benefits of using essential oils instead of synthetic
fragrance oils. My daughter, Hristina has also demonstrated at the
County and State levels..."How To Make Bath Salts" using fresh
herbs and botanicals. Hristina has reached hundreds if not more
attending the State Fair through her demonstrations.. She is in
her second year of Horticulture and placed 11th in the State last
year and will be their again this Fall. My future botanist!?
Recycling is another pet peeve of ours! We as a family and also as
a family running more than one business, have opted to do as our
part to renew our community, our home, our Bay (Chesapeake) and our
planet.....glorious Mother Earth.
The Soap Garden Boutique sources amazing handmade paper from
recycled materials from all over the world to wrap our beautiful
soaps in. Recycled materials are used for packaging and shipping
and means less waste in our landfills.
Breast Cancer Awareness is very important to women today and may
even affect our family at some point. We support our Breast Cancer
Society locally and just recently donated proceeds and a gift
basket to a local Dance-A -Thon, benefiting breast cancer at
Sailwinds Park Cambridge, MD. This is a new charitable event for
us this year and was a great success for them.

Annual donations are given to our local "Challengers", a national
Organization. A baseball team with a buddy system. Each player has
a disability (such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Autism,
Down Syndrome), and is teamed up with a buddy who helps them and
encourages them through each step of the game. It is an awesome
group of kids/people and touches the lives of each and every
person involved. A gift worth giving in every way!

In the past our goal was to donate our soap ends to woman and
children living in shelters. We hope to do this for them again in
the near future. We will package these soaps in pretty
little mesh bags, as they will be easier to travel with. These
women and children may never have the chance to experience such a
luxury in their lifetime. Life has obviously been a challenge to
them, and a little aromatherapy in the shower/bath just helps them
along the way, especially during the Holiday season. We hope to
bring a sense of well-being to each and every one of them.
